James CC Ferguson - Slangevar
Slangevar: (Scottish Gaelic) for Cheers! Good Health
James CC Ferguson, Haulage Contractor based at Milton of Campsie, East Dunbartonshire, specialises in transporting Scotch Whiskey for many of Scotland’s world famous distilleries.
Jimmy Ferguson, M.D. sought a traditional Scottish theme that featured a Piper in full regalia, the Clan Ferguson tartan and a highland cattle scene.
We arranged for Walter Paterson, a local piper, to pose in full ceremonial dress including bagpipes, to be our model. The Campsie Fells, on a summer’s evening, was a picturesque backdrop for our photo shoot.
The highland cattle shot is credited to Peter Stubbs, Edinphoto.org
The Ferguson tartan background proved more challenging since high resolution images of the Ferguson tartan were elusive.
Jimmy was able to offer us his woolly scarf which proudly boasted his family tartan!
We got to work by scanning the fabric at high resolution which we digitally enhanced, colour corrected, and replicated to allow a larger area to be covered than the scarf allowed.
The finished artwork was printed onto highly conformable film, and then clear laminated for UV protection. This was applied directly onto the unit with the James CC Ferguson livery superimposed.
Jimmy was so pleased with the result that this new flagship design has been rolled out across his entire fleet of tractors units, bulk liquid tankers and 45’ curtain-siders and trailers.
His camera-shy drivers are not so pleased. They’ve been mobbed by truck enthusiasts & tourists alike, requesting to be photographed beside their smart vehicles to show the folks back home!
